Castle Open Stage - COS

Logo

The Oberstein Castle Club and the musician Albert Nicodemus are launching a new project to promote musicians and other creative people from the city of Idar-Oberstein and the surrounding area. An open stage will be offered to this group of people. In doing so, first or even advanced live performances may be completed in front of a small audience.

The project is called Castle Open Stage, short COS, and will be offered for the first time on September 20, 2019 at Schloss Oberstein. The idea is that music, poetry slam and other live performances  are to be presented live to an interested audience by people who dare to do so. If successful, the project should be offered several times a year.

The entrance will be free, the catering as well as the audio technology will be ensured by the BVSO. Details are given to interested individuals or groups as needed. If you are interested in an appearance, please contact us.

Maybebop 2019 - the success story continues

Photo: Hosser

February 22, 2019 will surely be remembered for a long time by many music lovers from the Idar-Oberstein area. The musicians of MAYBEBOP knew how to draw everyone in their spell on their second appearance - multiple standing ovations spoke their own language.

After the local a-capella formation @bast had made great efforts to tune the audience to the top act, MAYBEBOP entered the stage at around 19:55 to sing together with the local heroes. Frenetic applause was the result, and so the musicians had the ideal preconditions to present their versatile and funny program. Sistemfeler reloaded so to say, garnished with new songs and, as already 2017, intonated in outstanding virtuosity. The audience was freaking out, three encores were enforced by the enthusiastic listeners. And so, after two and a half hours, you saw consistently satisfied and happy faces in the audience. MAYBEBOP promised to come back and we look forward to it!

12th Christmas Market Review

20181201 170601The Christmas market at Schloss Oberstein had to suffer from the bad weather in 2018. Nevertheless, and maybe because of it, we were able to welcome numerous visitors to the castle. In addition to the diverse range of exhibitors from the region our visitors could strengthen themselves on many food and beverage stands. At times there was hardly any getting through in our historic castle.

Thanks to the leadership of our two chairmen Ralph Effgen and Michael Dietz, as well as our numerous helpers, a smooth operation was ensured. Also the performances of different music groups contributed decisively to the Christmas flair. A highlight was certainly the handover of a donation of 500 euros by the IT system house Thome.
