Despite the bad weather, our 9th Romantic Christmas Market showed up to be a success.
Even though bad weather had been expected for Saturday, the sun was shining in the afternoon. Many visitors used the shuttle-bus and were delighted by the booths decorated for christmas at the market. The castle had been decorated in a christmas style by our club, as usual. Sunday started with some rain, but in the afternoon the weather turned bette and many people crowded the castle. Many of the visitors decided to talk a walk along the illuminated path from Oberstein market-place via the Felsenkirche to the castle.
Delicious food was waiting for the visitors. A new creation called the "Wyrich-salmon", a salmon sauced in Wyrich liquour was presented by our fish specialist Klaus Schleich.
In addition, international attention was paid to the Christmas Market by jounralists from CHina and a camera team from Japan, placing interviews with local gemstone exhibitors.
It took more than 100 members and friends of or club to run this market and maken it an experience for the people of the region. The castles charme and ambience made this event a full success.
The local newspaper "Nahe-Zeitung" placed a large article to be found here in German language.
