Maybebop 2019 - the success story continues

Photo: Hosser

February 22, 2019 will surely be remembered for a long time by many music lovers from the Idar-Oberstein area. The musicians of MAYBEBOP knew how to draw everyone in their spell on their second appearance - multiple standing ovations spoke their own language.

After the local a-capella formation @bast had made great efforts to tune the audience to the top act, MAYBEBOP entered the stage at around 19:55 to sing together with the local heroes. Frenetic applause was the result, and so the musicians had the ideal preconditions to present their versatile and funny program. Sistemfeler reloaded so to say, garnished with new songs and, as already 2017, intonated in outstanding virtuosity. The audience was freaking out, three encores were enforced by the enthusiastic listeners. And so, after two and a half hours, you saw consistently satisfied and happy faces in the audience. MAYBEBOP promised to come back and we look forward to it!

12th Christmas Market Review

20181201 170601The Christmas market at Schloss Oberstein had to suffer from the bad weather in 2018. Nevertheless, and maybe because of it, we were able to welcome numerous visitors to the castle. In addition to the diverse range of exhibitors from the region our visitors could strengthen themselves on many food and beverage stands. At times there was hardly any getting through in our historic castle.

Thanks to the leadership of our two chairmen Ralph Effgen and Michael Dietz, as well as our numerous helpers, a smooth operation was ensured. Also the performances of different music groups contributed decisively to the Christmas flair. A highlight was certainly the handover of a donation of 500 euros by the IT system house Thome.

"Cantabile" and the OCC invited and many, many visitors came

20180617 CantabileIt was a perfect setting for the charity concert of the women's choir "Cantabile" in favor of the victims of the flooding in the Fischbachtal. Far more than one hundred visitors came to Schloss Oberstein to listen to the well known choir.

And they were not disappointed. Relaxed and humorous as always, the twenty women presented a mixed program of well-known choral classics, followed by modern singing interpretations up to a rousing solo performance with a song by Ina Müller under the direction of Bettina Wegmann.

Forest Spring 2018

April 29, 2018 was a wonderful sunny day, even though it had looked different in the morning. The BVSO had invited for the "Forest Spring 2018" on the castle and many, many people accepted this invitation.

The topic of forest and nature manifested itself in lectures on near-natural gardens, the rolling forest school and the presence of the birds of prey of the Wildparks Potzberg falconry. Many adults with their children were very fond of the owls, which could also be kept on the forearm.

Stande

Many high-quality products from local production were offered at many stands, ranging from homemade jams to woodwork. As always, the food was well taken care of. The BVSO offered food and drinks at four booths. In addition, the specialty Flamed Salmon was offered by a local provider, a delight that was praised by many guests. In addition, various fine wines of the local wine trade WINElight could be bought on the terrace .
